This journey began when I started collecting the bits of truth, wisdom and beauty that brought me a greater sense of clarity and freedom. I struggled for a long time to find my path and my purpose. I began by doing everything society said was right: attending college and law school, working for a prestigious law firm, earning a good living and building a 401K. But my heart was not satisfied.
Still, I might have struggled along indefinitely, if a weak economy (and perhaps a touch of destiny) had not thrown me out the door. I found myself, along with so many others, jobless and, even worse, rudderless. I knew I didn’t want to do the same old thing any longer, but I had no idea what was next.
And so I began reading, writing and dreaming. Eventually, I realized that my discoveries could help many more people than just me, and so I started this website, began posting blog entries and even collected some of my favorites into my first book, “A Scattering of Light: Inspiration for Finding Peace on a Windy Day.”
As my soul woke up and I began to re-discover the lost parts of myself, I realized that I was longing for something more. It was not enough to write; I wanted to actually connect with people. To learn practical tools for growth and healing, and to be able to teach those skills to others. So I signed up for the Martha Beck Life Coach Training Program.
I don’t have all the answers, and I don’t know what’s best for you. What I do know is that you are the best navigator of your own journey. I also know how easy it is to become disconnected with the sense of purpose and passion that can guide our way, and I know that sometimes we need others to help us find our way back to ourselves. When we share the answers we’ve found, when we help others along their own paths and accept their help in return, we all stand a little taller and walk a little further. None of us journey alone. We find peace and love together, or not at all. If we all keep scattering the light we’ve found, we’ll find our way home.
